Updating Your T-Code or MVP using the USB Port on your computer
More and more computers are now sold without a 9 Pin Comm Port. Since the T-Code
and MVP require an open Comm port to update the software on them, this can be a problem.
There are a lot of different adaptors available from retail stores that can convert the USB on
your laptop or desktop computer to a 9 Pin Comm port. However most do not work correctly
and fail during the update process.
We have tested and had success with one particular brand and type. It is from Radio Shack
and their catalog number is: 26-949. The price at this time on their website is $34.99.
We have tested it here at the Tech Center but cannot guarantee it will work on your computer
as there are many different WindowsTM configurations on many different computers.
